Liturgical Ministries
Parishioners of all ages participate in the many opportunities to serve our parish community at Mass as Altar Servers, Eucharistic Ministers, Lectors, Cantors or singers in a group setting, accompanists on piano, organ or guitar, ushers and greeters. All parishioners are encouraged to sign up for liturgical ministry. Contact Karen Mroz at (641) 753-7374 for more information on these ministries below.

Altar Servers
|
Lector
|
Altar serving is open to all parish youth who are in 4th grade or older. This is an excellent way for young parishioners to help our Church and serve the parish. Training is provided.
Usher
Our ushers are considered the hosts at Sunday Mass. They are willing to welcome parishioners as they arrive, along with the greeters, and to have a working knowledge of the church building to help people as they are in our church. Training is provided.
Eucharistic Minister
Eucharistic Ministers distribute the Body and Blood of Jesus to worshipers. Parishioners who serve in this ministry must meet the following guidelines: be a practicing Catholic in good standing with the Church; be fully initiated through Baptism, Eucharist, and Confirmation; be active in the parish and faithful to the Sacraments; be approved by the pastor. Volunteers are always needed to serve as Eucharistic Ministers at all daily and weekend Masses. Training is provided.
Musicians
Musicians, cantors, group singers, and accompanists, bring the prayers of the Mass to the level of the angels. St. Henry has a Praise and Worship Team currently forming consisting of High School Youth through adult. Music groups and solo cantors lead the music at each of the weekend Masses. Call Karen Mroz to share your musical talents with the Parish.

Our lectors proclaim the Word of God at the Mass. A love of scripture as well as a willingness to practice before hand is a must. Lectors need to be able to have good public speaking skills. Training is provided.
Greeter
This important ministry of hospitality offers worshipers a spirit of warmth and welcome as they enter St. Henry Church. Greeters open the front doors, greet arrivers with a smile and hello, and answer any question that may arise. This ministry is for the 15 minutes prior to the start of Mass.
Children's Liturgy of the Word
Children are invited to participate in Children's Liturgy during the 10:30 AM Sunday Mass. After the opening prayer, the presider sends forth the children with the Liturgical Leader to the multi-purpose room. The Liturgical Leader facilitates the celebration, which includes leading the children in a shared reflection on the readings, and returns with the children to the assembly for the Liturgy of the Eucharist. This is a great opportunity to share your faith with young children, to grow in your own understanding of and appreciation for the Word of God and the celebration of the Eucharist, and to enrich children’s experience of the celebration of the Mass.
